Developer Advocate

Stateful is an early stage technology startup with a top notch distributed team, awesome investors and a laser focus on enabling happier developers through better tools. We build Runme (transform markdown to runnable notebooks) and Marquee (the open source homescreen for VS Code). Our roots are in open source, and with significant Sauce Labs experience across the team we know how important it is to foster a healthy, collaborative developer community. We see a huge opportunity at the cross section of VS Code, ephemeral development environments and the endlessly powerful cloud infrastructure at our finger tips.

Our mission is to bridge the developer experience gap (between humans and cloud-native infra) by reimagining developer docs to provide a better human interface for code and systems.

We are looking for a developer advocate who lives and breathes the modern developer toolchain. We want to understand, build for and speak to the challenges of being productive in a complex, ever changing landscape of tooling and cloud infrastructure. This is a really fun job for someone who likes to build, explore, share and communicate all about how to be a happy developer.

Qualities of an ideal candidate for this role include:

Be a great communicator, especially with engineers
Have strong knowledge of modern cloud architectures and popular tools, platforms, and/or relevant frameworks
Feel comfortable walking users through new scenarios and technical implementations
Be a documentation and content machine - comfortable helping anywhere, at any time, to anyone
Web development on stateful.com, runme.dev, blogs, hygraph
Grow the community around our OSS projects (following up with issues, etc)
Work to engage our Discord community
Have spent 2+ years working with developers
